Our Mission
 The American Dream
"Work hard to make a decent living.  Do the right thing and you will be rewarded.  Treat others as you would want to be treated."  We are told this from the beginning of our time that these things are paramount to our success in life.  This, and more, was the foundation message of our beliefs in "The American Dream."  It's a good dream.  But is it our reality today?  Is it still a viable business dream?  No.  It is not.  Why?  Read on.

Today, we can go ahead and work as hard as we can and we can still be denied even a hope for our dream for success.  Why?  Our dreams are as much online now as they are in life.  Success in life is now often easier to navigate over any Online success - but Online success is just as crucial to your success in life if not more so.

So, if online was fair, everyone would be there and we would all be successful.  We are not.  And, here is the catch.  Today, your success rate at getting seen on the Internet is held hostage from you unless you pay big bucks to be on a site that controls your business and your profits by how much they charge you to be seen.  If only one company did this, it would not be so bad.  The problem is - most major companies control the Internet now and the individual person or medium or smaller company in business is left holding the billing check for the payments to support big companies who give you back very little - if anything.

I am a promoter in the entertainment industry.  I have seen this happen to businesses on every conceivable level.  I say, "No more.  Fairness is in vogue again and we are bringing it.  That's gumption."

Let's break this down.  Let's use my background as an example.  I have always been an entrepreneur.  By definition, that's a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to build a business on the entrepreneur's skills and experience.  They are the one responsible.  They make the decisions.  They make the choices.  Everyone who runs their own business is an entrepreneur.

If you have the Gumption to start your own business or to work a second business, anything you do to enhance your financial success, you  are currently hindered by businesses who control your access to the buying public, your customers online.  How?

Pay-Per-Click.  RIP-OFF ALERT.  You pay a charge for every single time someone supposedly clicks on your online ad and you are given a computer generated print-out that shows you how much money you are charged for every single supposed click and you have no way to prove if this is a true accounting or if it brought you any business - but you have a bill and it eats away at your financial budget - and you pay because this is the only way you can remain on any given site to advertise your business.  You have no way of knowing who clicks on your advertising. Is it a real customer or is it "click fraud."  Read about that.  It is frightening.  But the bottom line is you have no guarantee of what you are paying for.

Impressions.  RIP-OFF ALERT.  You advertise with a company that places your listing on their online page.  You see your business on the page with other businesses or related articles and it looks pretty good, initially.  But what are you getting?  You are told you can have 10,000 impressions for $500 a month.  That's a common starting fee in advertising.  Sounds like a lot, doesn't it?  But what does this really mean?  It means everyone who browses that page to read the article or story there, or clicks on the page to see a business other than yours, that impression counts in your total and you are charged whether that page visitor looks at your advertisement or - more likely - looks at something else on that page - not you.  Are you still charged?  You bet you are.  Keep in mind, every single advertiser on that page is paying the same money you are for a visitor to click on the page.  Impressions are illusions that you are going to earn business from your ad.  Truth is, you are paying to be on the site with no guarantee you will profit from your own advertising with the hard-earned money you are spending on that ad.  It is an illusion.  The only person guaranteed to be in profit is the business charging you for the impressions.  We are not impressed.

Listings on Huge Marketplaces.  RIP-OFF ALERT.  This was my most recent personal experience and probably the most offensive.  You want to reach a wide market.  That is your dream for your company.  What is the reality?  First, you are told you are going to have to cut your prices by an average of 50%.  Yes, 50%.  Wait.  It gets worse.  You are told of the remaining 50%, you will give 50% of that to the Marketplace.  Bad?  There's more.  You do not get to manage your own money but you agree to let the Marketplace hold your money for anywhere from 90 to 120 days before you are paid.  Bad?  There's more.  You have to fulfill all the orders or deliver your service on your own dimes without getting paid while you wait the 90-120 day grace period.  Then, if all that is not bad enough, meet Charge-Backs.  Marketplace charge backs are deducted from your total despite you shipping your product or delivering your services.

Marketplaces charge you for placement and how many times your advertisement is seen and where.  Some even have Pay-Per-Click and Impression Programs to take more of your remaining 50% which is now actually only 25% or less.  You have no control over this.  You can only attempt to buy good placement and hope for the best.  Greedy?  You bet.

Other market and coupon sites offer to put your discounts and coupons on their site.  You are told to email information about your product and they will generate your coupon and sell it for you.  Who are you working with?  What country are they in?  You have no idea.  How this is managed?  You have no idea.  You are told to email them.  No phone number.  No rep.  No customer service.  No help.  They say they will get back to you if they are interested in you.  Good luck with that.  You submitted your information to them.  Can they sell it on a site you have no knowledge of?  You bet they can.  You do not know who you are working with.  Anything bad can happen.

Worst of all, you see your competition on big, mainstream sites.  You know you can compete with your competition.  No problem, right?  Wrong.  You, as a possible new or not advertised company, are told to forget it if you want to be on a big site.  What are you told?  Come back when you get bigger so they can charge you more money and dig deeper into your pockets.  They don't offer you a deal.  They reject you and offer you nothing equal to what your competition already has on the very same site.  They control your market and lock you out.  You cannot compete even if you are the better company or you do a better service.  You are out.  Your competition is in.

My favorite.  I saw my competition on a big marketplace just described above.  I was told to bring my brand new company back to them when I had $10,000,000 in sales.  Yes, TEN MILLION DOLLARS in sales for a new company.  I told them I would not not need them then -- and that is why WhyDontWeGo.com was born.
